Heading to Ball Out 3×3 in Birmingham is our Senior Men’s Squad player announcements as we continue to build towards our Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth qualification held in Scotland 🏴 December 21.
“The BNI Board have been in preparation getting Elite Status and working on Talent ID during lockdown. As Head Coach, the important factor for me in preparation for the men’s squad has been to prepare elite players who have not been able to train or compete due to Covid regulations. Thankfully the programme has been able to development quickly and we are making great progress. The player selected for Ball Out 3×3 are representing a squad that has came together to really put great efforts in over the past few months. Using competition in Basketball Ireland 3×3 tours and a practice schedules in order to try and qualifying for Commonwealth games in Birmingham in 2022.
We are navigating lots of variables; Load management, injuries and Covid itself but the Ball Out 3×3 Tournament gives us great competition as we know Basketball England are also using it in preparation for 2022. Myself and Marc Mulholland have to give a special thanks to Basketball NI board, Commonwealth Games Northern Ireland and Sport Northern Ireland as without there work during the lock down these opportunities would not have happened” Said, Neal McCotter | Men’s Head Coach 3×3 NI Commonwealth
