NCAA tournament comes to Belfast in 2017

The BBC have reported a partnership with the NCAA’s Basketball Hall of Fame and Sport Changes Life Foundation have announced that  Belfast’s SSE Arena will play host to an elite invitational tournament in November 2017 which will see four top NCAA college teams from the USA battling it out.

New York’s Manhattan College and Boston outfit Holy Cross (pictured) are two of the teams that will be in action in the tournament next November. With the games in Belfast counting towards the NCAA’s league standings these events will not be a laid back affair for the players and coaches.

The tournament has been officially sanctioned by NCAA basketball’s hall of fame based in Kansas City. Organisers plan to extend the competition to an eight-team tournament from 2018 onwards.
